This Cookies Policy explains how Kamasi, Inc. ("VCloud", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar tracking technologies when you visit our platform at vcloud.app or use any of our services. By continuing to use VCloud, you consent to our use of cookies as described below.
What Are Cookies?#
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile) when you visit a website. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences over a period of time, so you do not have to re-enter them each time you return or navigate between pages.
Cookies can be first-party (set by VCloud directly) or third-party (set by our service partners). They can also be session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) or persistent cookies (stored for a set duration).
Cookies We Use#
Strictly Necessary Cookies#
These cookies are essential for the platform to function. They cannot be disabled.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
session_id |
Authenticates your logged-in session | Session |
csrf_token |
Protects against cross-site request forgery | Session |
region |
Routes requests to the nearest data centre | 30 days |
Analytics and Attribution Cookies#
These cookies let us understand how visitors reach this website, so we can measure which channels bring people to us. They are first-party and are not used to track you across other websites.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
vcloud_vid |
Anonymous visitor identifier, so a returning visitor is not counted twice | 12 months |
vcloud_ref_tracked |
Records that a referral has already been counted, to avoid duplicates | 12 months |
Our website usage statistics are collected without cookies, and we do not use Google Analytics.
Advertising Measurement#
If you arrive from one of our advertising campaigns, we record which campaign brought you here, so we can tell which of our adverts are worth running. This is limited to measuring the performance of our own campaigns. We do not use it to build a profile of you, and we do not use it to advertise to you on other websites.
| Stored value | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
vcloud_click_id |
Identifies which advertising campaign your visit came from | Current session |
vcloud_click_source |
Records which advertising platform the campaign ran on | Current session |
If you go on to create an account, this campaign reference is kept for up to 90 days so the sign-up can be matched to the campaign that led to it, and is discarded afterwards.
Where you have agreed to advertising measurement, Google and Microsoft also place the following cookies on your device. These are set by them, not by us:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au |
Links an advert click to a later sign-up | 90 days | |
_uetsid |
Microsoft | Identifies your current session for campaign reporting | 1 day |
_uetvid |
Microsoft | Recognises a returning visitor for campaign reporting | 13 months |
MUID |
Microsoft | Microsoft's own identifier for the browser you are using | 13 months |
Until you agree, these tags run with advertising storage switched off and set no cookies at all. In the EEA and the UK we ask before enabling them; elsewhere they are enabled by default, and you can block them through your browser's cookie settings.
Preference Cookies#
These cookies remember your settings and preferences to personalise your experience.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
theme |
Stores your light/dark mode preference | 12 months |
locale |
Stores your language preference | 12 months |
Cookies We Do Not Use#
VCloud does not use:
- Cross-site tracking or retargeting - we do not serve adverts on our platform, and we do not follow you across other websites to advertise to you.
- Social media tracking pixels - we do not embed Facebook, X (Twitter), or LinkedIn tracking pixels on our platform.
- Fingerprinting or supercookies - we do not use browser fingerprinting or evercookie techniques.
Managing Your Cookie Preferences#
Browser Settings#
You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to:
- View which cookies are stored and delete them individually
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies (note: this will break authentication on VCloud)
- Be notified when a cookie is set
Refer to your browser's help documentation for instructions: Chrome · Firefox · Safari · Edge
Analytics Opt-Out#
To opt out of analytics cookies specifically, you can disable them via your Account Settings → Privacy panel inside the VCloud dashboard. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled.
Do Not Track#
Some browsers transmit a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. VCloud currently does not alter its data practices in response to DNT signals, as no industry-wide standard has been adopted. We encourage you to use the opt-out mechanisms described above if you wish to limit tracking.
Changes to This Policy#
We may update this Cookies Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you by email.
