Beyond the platform-wide features every app gets, Nextcloud on VCloud specifically means:
- Full protocol access. WebDAV, CalDAV, and CardDAV are all open, so the official desktop and mobile clients, and any third-party tool that speaks these standards, connect normally.
- Correctly sequenced major upgrades. Nextcloud does not support skipping versions on upgrade - handled for you, backup taken first.
- File and database backups kept in sync. A restore that reunites file data with a database from a different point in time produces orphaned files - VCloud's backup captures both together to avoid it.
- No provider-side scanning. Files aren't processed for advertising or used to train models.
